Professional & Career Development
EAMAN’s Professional and Career Development program supports adults and young people who are preparing for employment, changing careers, re-entering the workforce, or learning how professional systems operate in the United States. Employment can be a major part of self-sufficiency, but the path is not always straightforward for refugees and immigrants who may be adapting credentials, learning workplace expectations, or building new professional networks.
Activities may include résumé guidance, interview practice, job-search organization, workplace communication, digital skills, career exploration, and referrals to trusted workforce partners. EAMAN may also host informational sessions with professionals who can explain different industries, educational pathways, and common hiring practices. These sessions are educational and do not guarantee employment.
The program emphasizes honest preparation. Participants are encouraged to present their experience accurately, protect personal information, research employers, and avoid offers that appear misleading. EAMAN does not operate as a staffing agency and does not charge participants for job placement. When specialized credential evaluation, immigration advice, legal guidance, or professional licensing support is needed, participants should work with qualified organizations.
Career development also includes confidence and community connection. Many participants bring valuable skills, work experience, languages, and cultural knowledge. EAMAN helps individuals recognize these strengths while identifying areas where additional training may be useful. Volunteers can support mock interviews, résumé review, mentoring, networking introductions, and workshop logistics.
Participants may enroll by sharing their goals, work history, availability, and the type of assistance they are seeking. Information is used to understand needs and connect participants with relevant activities when available. EAMAN cannot promise a particular salary, position, or timeline.
By providing practical guidance, encouragement, and referrals, EAMAN aims to help community members take informed steps toward stable employment, professional growth, and greater economic self-sufficiency.
