Practical, culturally responsive support connected to EAMAN’s charitable mission.
Small Business Support
EAMAN’s Small Business Support program offers general education and community-based guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small business owners. Many immigrants and refugees bring strong ideas, trade skills, family experience, and determination, but may be unfamiliar with local regulations, recordkeeping, business planning, financing, or customer communication. Our program helps participants organize questions and connect with reliable resources.
Activities may include introductory workshops on business planning, budgeting, customer service, marketing basics, record organization, and local licensing questions. EAMAN may invite experienced business owners or nonprofit partners to share practical lessons. The program is educational and does not provide legal, tax, accounting, investment, or lending advice.
Participants are encouraged to make realistic plans, separate personal and business finances, keep accurate records, and verify requirements with qualified professionals or government agencies. EAMAN does not promise funding, grants, contracts, profit, or business success. When a participant needs specialized help, we seek to refer them to responsible organizations such as small business development centers, community lenders, or licensed advisors.
The program also promotes ethical enterprise and community responsibility. Small businesses can create employment, strengthen neighborhoods, and provide culturally relevant goods and services. At the same time, owners must understand their responsibilities to customers, employees, and the law. EAMAN encourages honest communication, fair treatment, and sustainable growth rather than risky shortcuts.
Community members may enroll whether they are still exploring an idea or already operating a business. The enrollment form asks about the stage of the business, main goals, and preferred topics so EAMAN can plan relevant activities. Volunteers with appropriate experience may support workshops, mentoring, translation, or referrals, but they should clearly explain the limits of their role.
By increasing access to practical information and trusted networks, EAMAN helps entrepreneurs make more informed decisions and build businesses that can contribute positively to family stability and the wider Nashville community.
